This is the Prologue to my 1st book

Thu May 21, 2009, 6:34 PM
Demon Angel.
Shadow Star.

Prologue

Long black shadows stretched out to a wolf Demon child sitting alone on a log. He gazed up at the blood red moon with his brilliant gold eyes. A light breeze made the long grass point to him leaves danced around him, and his fairly long black wolf fur on his tail swayed with the wind. A woman’s painful scream was carried by the wind. The little Demon child snapped his head in the direction the noise was coming from.

Curious, the four year old boy followed the sound- his black wolf ears flattened against his ruffed up black hair on his head. He moved threw the forest soundlessly, the woman stopped screaming for a moment and the boy stopped not knowing where to go. She continued and so did he. After a while of zipping threw the trees the woman’s scream was so loud that the boy knew that he found the screaming woman.

The wolf Demon child got down on his hands and knees, causally crawled forward, and hesitantly pulled some ferns out of his view and looked down the small cliff top. He saw a beautiful woman chained by her wrist and hanging from a thick tree branch far from her head, her naked feet couldn’t touch the ground and her long fiery red soaking wet hair clung to her pail skin.

“Mother?” the boy cried out under his breath.

He felt an urge to go to her, but he was too scared to move. His eyes were fixed on his mother’s dove like wings that he never knew she had. She looked like an angel to her son.

‘Mom’s a Ryhenna! But I’ve never seen her wings before…’ the boy’s thoughts trailed off as he remembered something that his father told him.

“Ryhenna does can make their wings disappear and reappear. Only the royal Ryhenna’s could have fire on their wings, only fire. And Ryhenna’s brought magic to the world and taught other races to use it.” At the time the little boy didn’t care what his father was telling him, but now the whole conversation came back to him.

“Are you paying attention?” the Demon child nodded and his father continued.

“And mixed-bloods are against the law. If a mixed-blood is made, the mother, father, and the mixed-blood are all killed. So if you ever know if someone is a mixed-blood, you come and tell me as soon as you find out.” the little wolf Demon boy’s memories trailed of as he thought of something. ‘I can’t believe that I’m half Demon and half Ryhenna. I’ll be killed if I’m found out!’ Aurian examined that one of his mother’s angel white wings was ripped off and on the ground, on her back were multiple whip like marks.

Anger swelled inside of the child, his brilliant gold eyes turning white from the iris to the pupil. A tall man that looked like an older version of him walked from the shadows to the mother, stopped in front of her. She was crying and asking why he was doing this to her.

“You lied to me. You told me you were a full Demon. Now our sons are half-breeds.” The man spat between his teeth.

The little boy gasped, his own father was doing this to his mother. The boy’s father stepped around to the mother’s back- the side the son was looking at- grabbed the only remaining wing and started to pull. Instantly her wing lit up in fire, his father let go howling as he held his burnt hands.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for them to light on fire. Are you badly hurt?” the mother gasped. The father stopped howling and looked blankly at her with his amber eyes.

“Why are you so concerned, I’m trying to kill you?” the boy’s mother started crying again.

“I will never hurt anyone I love, and I love you. I just hope you don’t do the same to our sons. There’s one more thing I must tell you before I die. Will you listen to me?” the father showed no emotions what so ever to the mother of his children.

“Fine.” He curtly spat narrowing his eyes. It took a while for the fire on the mother’s wings to go out, but she eventually forced the blood red fire to die out, reviling her dove like angel white wing.

“I’m not only a Ryhenna, but I’m the Ryhenna queen. I never married; you were my first and my last lover. I’m sad it had to end this way.” The demon boy wanted his father to see that what his father was doing was wrong, he wanted his father to regret that he was killing his mother. The little boy studied his father’s face for any sings, and found none. The only emotions he could find were hate, betrayal, and blood lust.

“So,” the angry father started, “you’re the Ryhenna queen and you never told me any of this!” he spat between his clenched teeth, his words were getting louder and louder until he was yelling.

“No, I feared that this would happen.” She paused and looked down where her right wing was laying before she continued. “And it did.”
The father angrily yelled, reached our, grabbed, and ripped off the mother’s only remanding wing. She let out another painful screech, just like the one the boy hear before he found his mother like this. Her cry echoed threw the skeleton like furriest.

A screech of horror escaped the boy’s lips as the wing dropped to the ground. His mother look directly into his father’s eyes, hers turning completely red. When she started to speak, her voice sounded like there were more then just one speaking,

“Darkness that spreads threw life,

Can only be vanquished by its own blood,

Three will join together,

The Shadow Star, Dark Fox, and the Lightning Phoenix,

The three will rise with or against the darkness,

And they will bring peace or doom to the worlds,

With out one, the three will not triumph,

And darkness will consume,

If the three stand together or apart,

No one will know,

The faith of the world lies with the three.” Her eyes turned back to their normal rusty brown, and she went on, “you know there is nothing you can do about it, the prophecy will come true. Even if you are the king of Demons, Hellquin, you can not stop it from coming true.”

“I can and will stop it.” the father, Hellquin, spat. But the mother died.

Hellquin’s son leaned forward, as if to grab his mother’s soul and put it back into her body. Wind rushed past his face, his stomach flipped, and his heart stopped as he fell from his hiding spot. Hellquin looked down at his son, his eyes blazed with per anger. He pick up his famous blood stained sword and used the handle to knock out his son.
